What happens if someone wins?
Oh dear…
Another option could be to simply put in the option that when you lose all of your territory and armies, you get a "colony ship" (not an actual ship, more like a menu item…) that allows you to found a new colony. We could put a time delay on it so you have to wait say 24 hours before beginning a new colony and joining the frenzy again. Something simple like that will allow testing to go continuously without us having to bother restarting the server.
Yes, but if someone else controls 100% of the planet's territory, there is nowhere to restart!
We could add land-mass to the planet whenever someone wants to start on that planet :)
So if someone controls the entire planet, which contains 800 units of land, when a new player starts - 50 units of land is added to the planet!!
Then the player can never win :D
After the 50 units of planet are added, they only control 94% of the planet :)
I definitely motion for a system that either adds land-mass to planets, or adds planets to the system, or adds systems to the galaxy, whenever a new player registers.
Astro Wars makes good use of this idea, so that there are always new planets to conquer.
This could easily be done manually, with "Earth" (or the "Devs") controlling land/planets/systems that were recently added to the game.
I think some of you have already been thinking of this, yet if it is going to be coded, now is the time to decide how to do it.
Automatic land-mass increase, manual land-mass increase, or no land-mass increase?
